Today my wife Jeanie reached a major milestone in her treatment for breast cancer. She finished her radiation therapy. It is now her “Nuke Free Day” and we are celebrating. Please celebrate with us and join in lifting up a prayer of thanksgiving to our Lord. We are both thankful that she has made it through her treatments and has done very well. During this entire time we have been so encouraged by all of your letters, cards, emails and especially for all of the prayers you have lifted up on her behalf.
From here on out she will still have many visits with oncologists, the surgeon, and our family physician, as they will be doing the controls and checkups that are common after someone has had cancer surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. But today is a day of celebration! Please join us in thanking God for His faithfulness, and for the simply joy of being able to sleep in and not have to rise early to get ready for some medical procedure; as has been the case for most of these past five months.
We will continue to pray as the work begun by the physicians must be completed by our Lord. We know that our lives are always in His hands and that none of us has any total security in this world. And so even in our celebrations we continue to lift her up before the Lord and we will appreciate your continued prayers as well as she continues to plod through the many check-ups and tests that await her. We look forward to the day when we can be reasonably sure that she is cancer free.
Once again we thank each and everyone of your for your prayers and words of encouragement. The cards, calls, emails, and posts on the different websites have been an encouragement to us during this difficult days. We cannot find the words to express our appreciation and so will simply say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May God richly bless you as you have been an encouragement and a blessing to us during these times of trial.
