We recently received a very special blessing at this Christmas time. It came in the form of a call from our son Alex, who has been in Iraq on his second tour of duty there. He informed us that he had returned safely and that he was now back in Texas at Fort Hood. He had some other exciting news that we will soon share with you as we get the details.
But for the moment, we are very glad to have him back in the States. We are thankful that he has returned safely and we want to thank all of you who kept him in your prayers, especially during his time spent there. We are looking forward to having him come up for a visit some time in the not too distant future; hopefully before I must return to Colombia.
At the same time, we know that other military families are grieving the loss of a loved one and our heart goes out to them. We keep them in our thoughts and prayers and ask that you do the same. They need a special measure of grace to endure such a loss, especially at this time of year.
